Welcome to Week 2! This week we've been hard at work finalizing the game design of Project ATX.
Project ATX is a board-game style video game, meaning that we've now developed the first draft of rules for an entirely new board game. We've finished the spaces on the board's map, items that players can use to compete, and additional objectives to reaching the main goal: rescue the most survivors before the black hole consumes the galaxy!
Below is a first draft, physical representation of the board complete with a legend of the different locations you'll encounter.

Map of the Board with Legend of Each Location
Players will move clockwise through each lane, picking up passengers as they pass and land on planets. Players will then have the choice to secure their score by depositing said passengers at the three stations around the map.
We also created a physical representation of the player stats throughout the game, including what movement cards they have in their hand, their current capacity for passengers, and the items on their person.

Using all of the above, and with the help of Project ATX's first playtester, we conducted the first playthrough of the game!

We gained a lot of valuable insight from just a few initial rounds. We'll be implementing some adjustments to aspects like movement and turn orders. There's only been one playtest so far, so keep posted for next week when we have a lot more trials of a full playthrough.
No more time to be wasting,
