#17: My Paint! My Paint!

You're standing in your kitchen, looking at a recipe sheet for the perfect board-style party game. You'll need a healthy serving of spaces sure, each with a delicious filling of both yin and yang (see last week's post for a substitute: All Yang, No Yin). Of course you'll also need a dash of aesthetic, though we here at Delayed Games bought the only Nova in the galaxy so you'll need to find your own. Finally, the crème fraiche of party games...items!

Items work a bit differently in Super Nova Party, as rather than be their own category they'll instead be linked to your movement cards. How will you know that one of your movement cards now has this special additional ability? Why, you'll have your paint! A normal movement card will be painted white. Play this card and you'll move the number of spaces it spits out, all normal. However, play a card that is painted any color other than white (red, blue, or yellow) and you'll achieve something quite special.

Play a card that is colored red, and any pod effects you experience on your turn will be multiplied by a factor of 2. Play a red card, land on a Cosmic Dust space, and you'll see your Planet's pod count increase by 4 (instead of just 2)!

Play a card that is colored yellow, and you'll have two opportunities to get the number you need. Play a yellow 4-6 card, roll 4-6 twice instead of only once, and you'll choose which of the two number outcomes you'd like!

Play a card that is colored blue, and you'll move backwards. Imagine the looks you'll get as you Jason Bourne your way to a space in the opposite direction that everyone else is moving. Plus...you'll also extend the amount of time before you reach your Planet, giving it an additional turn to grow in value!

No more time to be wasting,

Delayed Games
